Fluoride and Gainesville's Water

Sept.18, 2009 --FLUORIDE UPDATE

PLEASE ACT NOW; WE HAVE A WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY TO INPUT OUR COMMENTS ON GAINESVILLE'S WATER FLUORIDATION.

Please take advantage of this chance to tell the city commissioners what you feel about this while the Regional Utilities Committee is deciding whether the issue warrants taking to the whole commission or not, a decision that might be finalized on Oct.8 at the next RUC meeting.

Let them know you want them to look at the science and not accept blanket reassurances from agencies that in reality don't protect the public very well. Check the facts at www.fluoridealert.org and www.keepers-of-the-well.org and http://www.just-think-it.com/f-facts.htm and http://www.slweb.org/ and http://www.sierraclub.org/policy/conservation/water_fluoridation.aspx (The Sierra Club position against fluoridation).

You can email GRU at HenleyJJ@gru.com or email the clerk of the court through www.cityofgainesville.org

  1. Does anyone know what came of this?

Man, Gainesville has some water problems. This makes me think of a friend of mine whose parents live on the NW side of town on Rattlesnake creek. Their dogs have played in the creek forever and both recently developed malignant tumors. They got their tap water tested recently and found some crazy chemical that is never supposed to be there. Not particularly related to Fluoride but all the same medium. Makes you think about what you put in your mouth when you drive down 8th Ave and see Hogtown Creek overflowing with trash. Starting to think I should not be playing in those creeks so much...

Oh, Tom's Anti-cavity Toothpaste with Fluoride is delicious tasting if you're looking for the fluoride fix you won't be getting if you filter your tap.
